COMING FRIDAY
Colossal
From Fri 19th May

Imaginative and funny, this is a sci-fi monster movie with many bizarre twists. As a giant monster runs wild in South Korea, Gloria, a New York party girl, gradually comes to the realisation that she is somehow connected to this far-off phenomenon. Anne Hathaway is fantastic in this low-budget, wild and wonderful gem of a film.

Directed by Nacho Vigalondo and also starring Dan Stevens, Jason Sudeikis

La Strada
From Fri 19th May

Beautifully restored in a new print that does justice to cinematographer Otello Martelli's monochrome images of bleak, snow-covered mountain roads, empty beaches, half-built suburbs, crumbling small towns, lonely farms on the horizons of endless plains. Fellini's Oscar-winning La Strada is one of the all-time masterpieces of world cinema. Starring Giulietta Masina, Anthony Quinn, Richard Basehart, Aldo Silvani

Whisky Galore
From Fri 19th May

Based on the true story of the SS Politician, an 8000-ton ship that ran aground off the Island of Eriskay in the Outer Hebrides with a huge cargo of whisky onboard. The wily islanders on nearby Eriskay tried to salvage the huge cargo of whisky on board, enraging the British authorities. This remake of the Ealing comedy stars Gregor Fisher, James Cosmo, Eddie Izzard, Ellie Kendrick and Kevin Guthrie.
