Arocaria slightly unlucky to get caught?

A filthy restaurant which was "littered with rat droppings" has been fined £6,000 by food inspectors.

Greek restaurant Arocaria, in north London, was found to be using fridges that were "caked with dirt" during an inspection.

The restaurant, in the heart of affluent Crouch End, has now shut down after it was warned over hygiene in the past and staff had not been given any training in food hygiene, Haringey Council said.

I'd seen the 'To let' sign outside; this explains it.

I don't think they were unlucky. Having been there twice last summer the place was pretty grubby and it was clear the owner was trying to run it on a shoestring.

On a busy Saturday night there was just him and the chef covering the whole place. The second time we left as we'd been waiting 20 minutes just to get a menu.

It's a shame as we've had some nice meals there in the past and it's one of very few restaurants in Crouch End where you can eat outside.
