Advice please - how to internet stream the video of a wedding

I need some advice please and Crouch End is such a media savvy place someone must know the answer. I want to stream my daughter's  wedding over the internet (there is a very good reason, not just simple vanity) - how do I go about it? Would a laptop with a webcam and Skype do the trick? Or do I need a more reliable mechanism?

Hello Adrian, just seen your question on streaming video.

The easiest and free way of doing this would be via YouTube. Create an account and upload your video and email a link to all you wish to share with. If you want the quality to as good as possible then try Vimeo.com, again free, because they will allow you to stream HD.

Hope this helps,

Paul

Thank you for the advice, I will try both those things for the film shot on the day. Luckily we were all able to attend on the day, ill health notwithstanding, which transformed the day from a success into an absolute triumph.

Glad to be of help Adrian. Many years ago I had to video a wedding (paid work) and rather foolishly used

a Sennheiser rifle microphone. The type you normally employ to pick up sounds in the distance.

Unfortunately it did its job rather well and picked out to ladies at the back of the church commenting on how fat the bride was. Oops!
