Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
Having a good quality, affordable home in a safe and attractive neighbourhood is very important to everyone. Haringey Council is consulting on what housing should look like in the borough for the next five years. It’s about what should be done to build more homes and improve the quality of the homes we have already. It’s also about how housing, new and existing, can help create neighbourhoods we all want to live and work in and build our lives in.
To find out more, download our Housing Strategy 2015-2020 consultation document: Developing a new Housing Strategy for Haringey (PDF, 591KB). This document sets out the council’s proposed vision for housing over the next five years, what the prioritiesfor housing could be and the principles that should be in place to realise the vision and priorities.
We want to hear your views if you live or work in Haringey. It doesn’t matter whether you live or work in Haringey or you’re from an organisation that provides services in the borough. We need to take everyone’s views into account when we make our plans for housing.
The consultation starts on 23 October 2014 and finishes on 30 November 2014
We will write the final Housing Strategy for 2015-2020 and carry out an Equalities Impact Assessment, which will help ensure that our plans will be right for everyone, no matter what group they belong to.
The Cabinet will look at the new Housing Strategy in February or March 2015 and Full Council will agree it by the end of March 2015. After that, it will be the document that guides all the work that’s done to improve the housing situation in Haringey.
