Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

From Tom Barrie's feed on Facebook
The Music Palace in Crouch End [home of comedy and variety night, Boom-Tish!) is soon to be taken over by a new creative team and with this comes an exciting project that will build on the areas strong cultural and artistic credentials.

Whilst remaining a unique and versatile space for theatre / live performance and events for the whole family, part of the new development will also include a cafe bar and.... A FABULOUS BOUTIQUE CINEMA, offering N8 the most up to date releases, live steaming of major events and independent films.

I am pleased and proud to announce that I will be taking over as Artistic Director and I look forward to welcoming friends to the new venue, once the refurbishment has taken place.

Watch this space for further details!!!!!

Very best

Tom
A FANTASTIC TRANSFORMATION FOR CROUCH END!!

...and an opportunity for you to play a part.

The Music Palace in Crouch End is soon to be taken over by a new creative team and with this comes an exciting project that will build on the areas strong cultural and artistic credentials.

Whilst remaining a unique and versatile space for theatre / live performance and events for the whole family, part of the new development will also include a cafe bar and.... A FABULOUS BOUTIQUE CINEMA, offering N8 the most up to date releases, live steaming of major events and independent films.

I am pleased and proud to announce that I will be taking over as Artistic Director of the venue. Having lived in the area for over 20 years and been involved with the Music Palace for the past 3, I am very excited about the changes planned. From the moment discussions on this venture first began I have been keen to to get the input from the local community.

Myself, and the team behind the project would like to hear your views and even offer the opportunity to suggest a name for the venue, that encompasses, what the area, and the planned usage of the building are all about.

A website and logo is to be designed in the coming weeks and the deadline for entries for name suggestions is Saturday 9th Feb 2013.

The proud winner of the name chosen will then be invited to unveil the sign that will appear at the front of the building, be acknowledged in the press coverage for the opening and invited to a gala launch party later in the year.

Entries, comments and mailing list enquiries should be sent to -

I look forward to hearing from you and welcoming to the new venue.

Very best

Tom

What FANTASTIC news. At last, a venue that fits in with the area. What a refreshing approach and one that will get our full support. Good on you guys.
Great news! Wow.
I can see it being like the screen on the green in islington, but a bit smaller.
I look forward to seing the website - let me know if you need help with that :-)

where in Crouch End is this?

Opposite the Co-op / Texaco garage by the YMCA.

This is great news for the area. I think a cinema would be well used. Keep us posted!
