Join Haringey cartoonist Sean Azzopardi as he presents a talk about his forthcoming illustrated graphic novel telling the story of Crouch End’s landmark building, Hornsey Town Hall.
Hear about Sean’s career in comics, and how he was inspired to embark on this new project to capture this building’s remarkable history. Built in 1935, it was amongst the first Modernist buildings in England. It’s 80-year history, of modernism to re-gentrification, is narrated by the building itself. Sean’s graphic novel utilizes a variety of artistic styles, representing the different decades.
The graphic novel will be published in 2018 by Soaring Penguin. As the author says – ‘It’s going to be a visual feast.’
The project and book is kindly supported by a grant from the Arts Council of England
Doors open at 7pm. Talk begins at 7.30pm
Kindly supported by the Friends of Bruce Castle
