Event Description

Come and discuss the possibility of putting together a Neighbourhood Plan for Crouch End.

Its a chance for us to say how we want our local community to work together to make our public space better.

Several local residents are organising a meeting to discuss the possibility of setting up a Neighbourhood Forum and are keen that representatives from residents’, social, arts, business, historical and amenity groups come along to discuss the idea.

Attached is a draft manifesto that explains what a neighbourhood forum is and a resume of the kind of matters it could cover: these could include conservation, traffic management, planning and enforcement, Hornsey Town Hall, town centre as well as the cultural scene and sustainability. A map of the area it could cover is also included.

At the beginning of 2012 our neighbours in Highgate met and by the end of the year had set up their own Forum. You can get an idea of their activities by taking a look at their website www.highgateneighbourhoodforum.org.uk .

The Crouch End version is very much at the discussion stage and I hope that you will be able to attend and contribute.  Please emailcrouchendforum@gmail.com to confirm and let us know the name of the group you represent (if any). Do feel free to pass this on to others who might be interested but please ensure they us email in advance so we can keep an eye on numbers.

If you can’t make 14th October but would like to be kept in touch with developments by email, then drop us a line anyway.

Chris Mason (Hornsey CAAC) will chair this meeting and will make sure it only lasts about two hours. Our new councillors have been invited and this is a great opportunity to meet them.

Please come and tell us what you think needs doing in Crouch End, and how you can help - and send us an RSVP. For a manifesto for a Crouch End Neighbourhood Forum, see Adrian's comment below.
