Last year Friends of Priory Park, in conjunction with Highgate Cricket and Lawn Tennis Club (HCLTC) [www.highgate-cltc.co.uk/] and with funding from Give it a Go, ran a free family tennis coaching course for 18 adults and children.
It was massively oversubscribed and got rave reviews “The teaching has been excellent – splitting us up into groups and bringing us back together at the end, clear instructions delivered in an easy to understand manner, approachable and friendly coaches” … “We have bought rackets and will definitely continue to play”… “It’s been great fun for us all. Thank you”.
So, we’re happy to tell you that we’ve got funding from Pro-Active London [pro-activelondon.org] and we’ll be running another free four sessions course on Sundays, March 3, 10, 17 and 24, 2013, from 2.30 – 4.00 pm.
The course is aimed at an adult who wants to introduce kid/s (age range 4 to 12) to tennis or develop their existing skills. You’ll all get to know the basics of how to hold a racquet, how to serve, return and volley. The adults will learn little games and drills to work on with their kids – and the children will get in lots of practice at the mini tennis nets.
You won’t need racquets or tennis balls – HCLTC will provide. You don’t need fancy clothes – just wear something comfortable with trainers.
